What’s Blooming In Santa Clarita?

While hunting California Blooms in Southern California, our journey led us to Los Angeles where James had two shows.  On our way, we found flowers, big and small, wild and cultivated, blooming in Santa Clarita.  I was particularly pleased to see so many yucca blooming on the eastern facing hillsides.  The dramatic, huge and edible wild flowers are very special to me for many reasons.  Yet they were on a hilltop unaccessible  for anything close range, so my hunt continues.  Meanwhile there were so many wonderful blooms in Santa Clarita, California.  Click on the image to see them larger.  Thanks for looking.

Arizona’s Blooming Too!

While on our California Blooming flower photography tour, we couldn’t pass up a chance to visit Mom.  And how wonderful it was to see Arizona blooming so abundantly!

Yellow Desert Wildflowers Against The Pink Mountains of Mohave

Delicate little flowers cover the brush, turning white like little cotton balls when ready to seed

The bushes are yellow with tiny blooms

As far as the eye can see these yellow flowered bushes are everywhere

This tree is a Desert Willow blooming with vibrant yellow flowers. Hello curious bird!

These Caesalpinia Gilliesii, common name Desert Bird of Paradise bloom almost year round! at my Mom’s house

The bees LOVE Caesalpinia Gilliesii! Grow better food by planting these to attract pollinators.

Ah in between cactus blooms! This one is just waking up.

But the cactus is covered in buds. Another week or two and this cactus will be stunning.
